Oldtown Photo Calendar Competition,
October, 2010
Part of Natick Open Studios weekend!
2008 Winners
The 2008 Oldtown Photo Calendar Competition was a tremendous success, with 68 photographs entered, and 27 photographers participating. 189 visitors cast ballots (which doesn't count quite a few folks who just came to enjoy the show, so attendance was certainly over 200!)
The Envelope Please...
You'll find below the list of winning photographs from this year's Competition. Winners are chosen based primarily on votes cast with input from the judges in cases where there are multiple winners from the same photographer, more images of a particular season than appropriate (nobody wants a picture of snow in May), highly similar pictures, etc. The 2010 Calendar will include seven first time winners!
Congratulations especially to Elaine Early for her photograph titled Currier & Ives presents Elm Bank, voted "Best of Show" (the photograph that receives the most votes)!
Congratulations to the winners! Thanks to all for a terrific show, and enabling a fine 2010 Calendar. And a cordial reminder: you've got 51 weeks to capture your images for the next Oldtown Photo Calendar Competition, so get started!

The Photo Competition is part of the Oldtown Community Fall Fair. With new events added each year, the Fair has grown increasingly popular. The fair offers live music, food and baked goods, and an exciting range of family activities. Local community groups, including the Natick Historical Society, the Center for Arts in Natick, the Natick Historical Society, The Natick Community Organic Farm, the Eliot Church, South Natick Neighbors & Newcomers, the Eliot Montessori School, and others will be on hand to talk with visitors. Activities and events take place both inside the hall, and on the field in front of the Eliot Montessori School (inside the Montessori School gym if it’s raining).
The Community Fall Fair, organized by the Eliot Church, has been a South Natick tradition for many years. For further information, contact Tod Dimmick at (508) 785-2006, visit www.oldtowncalendar.org, or contact oldtowncalendar@verizon.net.
