Youth Group
Our Eliot Church Youth Group has completed both fun and cultural activities as well as service projects. They began the fall by hosting the St. Paul's Youth Group (SPY) and the First Congregational Church Youth Group in a ropes course adventure outing at the YMCA in Hopkington in October. They also participated in a cross-ecumenical gathering to view and discuss cultural and religious diversity surrounding a film called, "Not Your Average Arab" at the First Congregational Church and a "U2cherist", a service with the music of the group U2. Some of our members participate regularly in worship with St. Paul's SPY and reciprocated by hosting a movie, dinner and discussion night at Eliot Memorial Hall in February.
Besides service projects working with the rest of the Eliot Church Sunday School (such as the tour of Heifer Project’s Overlook Farm and Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger), we have also worked on our own initiatives. We’ve baked bread for the Natick food pantry, served with the rest of Eliot Church during our turn at the Natick Open Door and contributed readings and musical interludes during holiday services. And several of our participants have joined other Natick Church youth traveling to West Virginia Work Camp.
