An afternoon of Americana, blues and the best of the singer-songwriter tradition
We have exciting news! The Eliot Church is hosting a series of benefit concerts for Natick Is United starting on March 25!
Over the last couple of years, the Eliot Church has worked with other local institutions and religious communities around town to develop a unified response to hate crime and other acts of discrimination. One result was the coalition known as Natick Is United. Our main goal is to support Natick in being a compassionate, welcoming and equitable community where everyone is valued, lives free of racism and discrimination, and fully participates in all aspects of town life.
Now it is time for our first benefit concert! There will be another (classical) concert soon, featuring the cellist Gabriel Cabezas. However, before then, we have the folk duo of Susanne Gerry and Seth Warner.
Susanne Gerry & Seth Warner join forces to bring their “Old Souls” Duo to audiences throughout New England and beyond. Crafting transcendent performances that combine the elements of timeless songs, flowing harmonies and acoustic guitar. Based in Portland, Maine, both Susanne and Seth are active as soloists, collaborators and producers in that city and the regions vibrant music scene.
Susanne Gerry is highly regarded as a vocalist who can inhabit, elevate and deliver any line with equal amounts of beauty, verve and humanity: “Singing carries me along, and encourages me every single day. In a time where everything feels so uncertain, music continues to be the most beautiful and certain thing in my life. I can sing to make things better. This much I know is true.”
The consummate collaborator, singer and guitarist Seth Warner is always seeking to discover new ways to connect and share the power of music and to deliver an undeniably satisfying and enjoyable live performance experience. This captivating duo started out with a shared appreciation for the music of the 70’s and the singer-songwriter era and their selections have expanded to include originals, traditional folk and blues and standards from the American songbook
Admission is by donation. (suggested $15) All profits will go to the education, conversation, advocacy, and celebration work of Natick Is United! Learn more about them here… https://www.natickisunited.org/
