About the event

Natick is United invites the community to attend our panel presentation, “Being LGBTQ+ in Natick.” In alignment with our mission, “We are a community where we value differences, and everyone belongs,” we seek to educate and increase understanding of the issues that LGBTQ+ families face, and to build solidarity and allyship.

In partnership with OUT MetroWest, we will start the evening with a presentation on LGBTQ+ basics with a strong focus on how to be a good ally and upstander. It equips participants with up-to-date vocabulary and answers frequently asked questions about LGBTQ+ inclusion and etiquette. Then, there will be a panel of local community members, including an LGBTQ+ young adult, an LGBTQ+ parent, a parent of an LGBTQ+ child, a mental health professional, and a school administrator. They will discuss their lived experiences and the importance of actively creating safe and affirming communities for LGBTQ+ youth.

The discussion will be presented as a webinar. Only event hosts and panelists will be on camera/audio. We welcome you to submit questions to our panel ahead of time through the registration form or by emailing us at natickisunited@gmail.com.
