We're Hiring: Office Assistant
The Eliot Church is seeking an office assistant to facilitate the efficient flow of information among staff, church leadership, church membership, and the public regarding church programs, so that all may participate easily in the life of the church. No weekend work. The position can be remote except for one two-hour visit to the church each week. Candidates are not required to be church members or to attend services or events.

Reports to: Moderator; works closely with Minister
Effective Date: Immediately
Status: PT; Hybrid office situation (10—15 hours per week, varies by season, no weekend work, one visit to office required each week)
Job Summary
Facilitate the efficient flow of information among staff, church leadership, church membership and the public regarding church programs, so that all may participate easily in the life of the church.
Essential Functions

Coordinate, prepare and distribute weekly orders of service, announcements, and electronic newsletter.

Maintain church information, including reports, correspondence, documents, attendance, membership status, contact information, life passages.

Maintain church Google drive, website, and social media accounts.

Prepare other printed and electronic communication as needed.

Facilitate scheduling of church meetings, activities, church cleanings, building maintenance visits and repairs.

Respond promptly to telephone calls, emails, and postal correspondence.

Maintain office and worship supplies.

Coordinate, prepare, and distribute the annual report of the church.

Support minister and lay leaders in preparing church programs.
Other Responsibilities

Provide support for members’ weddings, memorial services, and funerals.

Manage occasional church rentals; coordinate with minister, moderator, and music director as needed.

Schedule guest preachers in coordination with the minister and worship committee; provide guest preachers with information; request payment from the Treasurer.
Minimum Qualifications

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace; document layout; email and marketing computer application such as Constant Contact; experience with website maintenance (Wix, WordPress) preferred.

Prior experience in marketing or administrative support.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to speak and hear spoken language.
